MasterChef finalist David Wells
David Wells, or "Wellsy" as he's affectionately known, brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and passion to the Yummies Office kitchen.
A MasterChef: The Professionals 2020 finalist, David’s talent and dedication were on full display as he competed alongside some of the UK’s top chefs, including Philli Armitage-Mattin, Alex Webb, and Santosh Shah.
Born and raised in Didcot, Oxfordshire, David is a classically trained chef with a modern twist. His career spans across renowned establishments such as The Fat Frog and Robinson Restaurant, where he mastered modern European cuisine, and Al Bergue, where he honed his expertise in French cooking.
David draws inspiration from culinary legends like Tom Aikens and Marcus Wareing, while also finding motivation in personal role models, including Tyson Fury and Billie Joe Saunders.
As a father of four, David balances family life with the demands of being a chef. His proudest moments come when seeing people enjoy his food, though he admits the long hours and unappreciated efforts can be tough.
When he’s not creating in the kitchen, you might catch him indulging in his guilty pleasure: mince beef and onion pie with chips, beans, and gravy—a hearty comfort classic.
